Farmington visits North Farmington for a crosstown football rivalry game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in Farmington Hills.

MaxPreps lists Farmington at 3-4 and North Farmington at 5-2 overall and 4-2 in league play ahead of the Week 8 Lakes Valley Conference matchup.

On the field, the Falcons have been in close games. They lost to Walled Lake Western 7-6 on Sept. 18 and fell to South Lyon East 20-12 on Oct. 2. Those two defeats came by a combined nine points, The Oakland Press reported. Farmington dropped its most recent game 35-13 to Milford on Oct. 9, according to MaxPreps.

The Falcons opened the season with a 32-7 win over Huron and a 28-7 win over Walled Lake Northern before the schedule stiffened. A 29-7 victory over Stevenson on Sept. 25 showed the offense can still score. Farmington has put up 133 points this season against 114 allowed, according to MaxPreps.

The Raiders present a different challenge.

North Farmington beat Walled Lake Central 72-14 on Sept. 18 and edged South Lyon 44-38 in overtime on Sept. 25. The Raiders' losses came against South Lyon East, 35-34, and Milford, 35-8, according to conference results.

Oakland Press columnist Kosmo wrote that the Raiders have not won seven regular-season games since 2019, when they entered the playoffs unbeaten. A win Friday would put them at six with one game remaining.

Raiders quarterback Elijah Cobb has powered North Farmington's offense, Kosmo noted. But the columnist picked Farmington as his upset special, writing that the Falcons "will be absolutely determined to play spoiler to their rivals."

North Farmington finishes at Walled Lake Northern on Oct. 23, according to the conference schedule.
