A 32-year-old Farmington Hills man will spend nine years in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg sentenced Lincoln Duvall Erickson to 108 months on Tuesday, Sept. 15, in federal court in Detroit, according to The Oakland Press. Erickson pleaded guilty to the felony charge on May 20. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan also confirmed the 108-month sentence.

FBI agents arrested Erickson on Dec. 10, 2025. Before his arrest, he was a medical resident at a public university and worked in the Detroit metropolitan area, according to federal prosecutors. WDIV reported that agents arrested Erickson at a Detroit hospital where he was working as a medical resident. Neither the university nor the hospital has been named publicly in the available sources.

According to court records cited by federal prosecutors, agents found videos depicting the sexual abuse of minors and AI-generated sexual imagery depicting nude children on Erickson’s phone. The Oakland Press reported that the material was transmitted in interstate commerce using Erickson’s iPhone and the Telegram messaging app.

Erickson also attempted to convince a man to let him bathe the man’s children and made plans to travel to the man’s home to do so, according to court records.

The case grew out of a broader investigation. Toledo, Ohio, police arrested Brett Tooman on March 29, 2025, after he allegedly traveled to sexually abuse children he believed existed, according to WDIV. That arrest led investigators to Jeremy Brian Tacon, Joshua Ronnebaum and Erickson, who authorities alleged shared child sexual abuse material with one another.

After his arrest, Erickson told investigators he had received material he believed was AI-generated child sexual abuse material from a man in Chicago, WDIV reported. He was denied bond.

Jennifer Runyan, special agent in charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, said in a statement that people who possess child sexual abuse material should expect severe consequences and credited the FBI Detroit Crimes Against Children Squad and task force officers from the Detroit Police Department with pursuing the case.

As part of his sentence, Erickson must register as a sex offender, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The FBI Detroit Crimes Against Children Squad and task force officers from the Detroit Police Department investigated the case.
