Downtown Farmington's 21st Annual Harvest Moon Celebration returns to Riley Park's Sundquist Pavilion for three nights of live music, food trucks and craft drinks starting Thursday, Sept. 17.

The annual event, organized by the Farmington Downtown Development Authority, runs through Saturday, Sept. 19. Each evening opens at 6 p.m. with food trucks and a craft beer and wine tent for guests 21 and older. Live bands take the stage at 7 p.m.

Thursday's opener features Full Tilt Boogie, a Detroit-area band that has played the Farmington Farmers Market. Friday brings Main Street Soul, an 11-piece Southeast Michigan group the DDA called "a proven winner" in July 2025 board minutes. Saturday night closes with The Ones and Twos, an eight-piece Motown and dance act from Ann Arbor.

Saturday also includes a family-friendly Harvest Moon Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No ticket is needed for the morning market.

Tickets for the evening beer and wine tent cost $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Advance tickets are available at downtownfarmington.org and at participating downtown businesses listed on the site.

The celebration has grown steadily. DDA board minutes from October 2024 described last year's edition as "another record-breaking weekend," with revenues up about 6.5% and more than 100 volunteers working the event. The year before that, the DDA reported record-breaking attendance after introducing a new point-of-sale system.

Jess Westendorf, executive director of the Farmington DDA, has helped organize the celebration since joining the authority in 2019. In a 2021 DDA article previewing that year's return after the event's 2020 pandemic cancellation, Westendorf said, "After pausing in 2020, it will make the bonfires, twinkle lights, live music and beer extra special."

Food trucks open at 6 p.m. all three nights. Music ends at 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Riley Park is at 33113 Grand River Ave. in downtown Farmington.
