Farmington Hills families looking to cool off have a free option steps from the playground at Heritage Park: the splash pad is open daily through Labor Day weekend, with no tickets or registration required.

The splash pad sits at the north end of the park near the north shelter and picnic area at 24725 Farmington Road, between Ten and Eleven Mile roads. Features include fountains, buckets, sprayers, and water guns. A "Snack Shack" concession stand sells treats nearby whenever the pad is running.
Operations are weather-dependent. The city closed the splash pad Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, during an air quality alert that also shut down the Nature Center and summer camps.
The park drew about 750,000 visitors in 2024, according to Special Services Director Ellen Schnackel, who cited the figure at a city council study session.
The Farmington Community Library also hosts free Splash Pad Storytime sessions for ages 1–8 at the pavilion next to the splash pad. No registration is required.
Nearby water play options
For families willing to drive a few miles, two alternatives stand out. Jessica's Splash Pad at Bosco Fields in Novi (47481 W. 11 Mile Road) is free for residents and non-residents, open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Lily Pad Springs in West Bloomfield (6200 Farmington Road) covers 5,500 square feet with four water slides and a 55-gallon splash bucket; tickets run $4 for residents and $7 for non-residents per timed session.
