A 61-year-old Novi man who left home Wednesday evening without his medication, money, or a phone was found safe in Farmington Hills the next morning.
Dennis Hudgins was located just before 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, roughly 14 hours after he walked away from his residence on Jamestowne Road near 10 Mile Road and Taft in Novi, according to Fox 2 Detroit, citing Novi police. WWJ Newsradio also reported the search.
He was unharmed.
Hudgins left at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 29. His direction of travel was unknown.
Novi police had issued a public alert early Thursday expressing concern for Hudgins' safety. He has schizoaffective disorder and relies on multiple prescribed antipsychotic medications. At the time he went missing, he had no access to a vehicle, a cell phone, or a way to get money.
Hudgins is described as a white man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, approximately 300 pounds, bald and wearing glasses.
The Novi Police Department led the search. No details have been released about the circumstances of his recovery in Farmington Hills, and the Farmington Hills Police Department has not issued a statement on the case.
