Farmington Hills residents can get free legal advice from volunteer attorneys on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Farmington Community Library.

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) is sending lawyers to the library's Farmington Hills auditorium for an "Ask a Lawyer" clinic, according to Oakland County Times. Attorneys will offer brief consultations on family law, criminal law, landlord-tenant disputes, elder law, probate, juvenile law, labor law and personal injury.

The clinic runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 32737 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Each session may be limited to 10 minutes per person.

Check-in starts at 6 p.m.

The event is free, open to adults 18 and older, and does not require a library card. Residents from outside Farmington and Farmington Hills are welcome. Registration is preferred, according to the library's event listing, though walk-ins will be accepted as time allows.

The Oakland County Bar Foundation is funding the event, according to the library’s listing.
