Residents and organizations in Farmington and Farmington Hills can apply for Bridge Builders Microgrants of up to $5,000, depending on the project type.

Applications are open through Oct. 30, according to the Michigan Municipal League Foundation. Both cities are full members of the Michigan Municipal League, making local groups eligible.

Community Microgrants offer up to $1,500 for resident-led projects and are open to individuals, nonprofits and other community groups. Main Street Microgrants offer up to $5,000 for projects that bring together small businesses, artists and local government to strengthen commercial corridors.

The 2026 cycle marks a relaunch after a two-year hiatus, with support from the DTE Foundation and the Lapeer County Community Foundation. Past Bridge Builders projects across Michigan have included murals, community food gardens, night markets, concerts and festivals.

Details and the application are available on the foundation's program page.
