The North Farmington Raiders won their first field hockey game of the season Wednesday, Sept. 23, blanking Birmingham Seaholm 1-0 at home in Farmington Hills.

The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak to open the 2026-27 season. North Farmington improved to 1-8 while Seaholm, which entered the game at 7-1-1, dropped to 7-2-1 with the loss.

Neither team scored in the first half. The Raiders broke through with a lone second-half goal to secure the shutout, according to the MaxPreps box score. No individual goal scorer was listed.

The result capped a difficult stretch for the Raiders. North Farmington opened the season with a 1-0 loss on Aug. 19, then fell 4-0 to Bloomfield Hills on Aug. 24 and 3-1 to Clarkston on Aug. 26. A tournament on Aug. 29 brought an 8-0 loss to Marian and a 4-0 loss to North Shore Country Day. Greenhills beat the Raiders 7-0 on Sept. 1, and Bloomfield Hills added a second win over North Farmington, 2-0, on Sept. 3.

The closest the team came to a win before the Seaholm game was a 5-4 double-overtime loss to West Bloomfield on Sept. 9. Through nine games, North Farmington has scored six goals and allowed 34.

On the Seaholm side, No. 2 Monica Egido was named the Maples' player of the game despite the loss, according to the MaxPreps game page.

North Farmington's remaining schedule was not listed on MaxPreps as of Friday, Sept. 25. The MHSAA has not published a 2026 field hockey tournament bracket.
