North Farmington rolled to a 72-14 road win over Walled Lake Central on Friday, Sept. 18, pushing the Raiders to 3-1 on the season.
Walled Lake Central dropped to 0-4.
The non-conference blowout was the latest in a string of high-scoring outings for North Farmington. The Raiders beat Lakeland 54-26 on Thursday, Sept. 3, in Week 2, and the 72 points against Walled Lake Central continued a pattern of offensive production that has defined the early season. The final score was posted on MaxPreps, which credited E. Cobb with 85 rushing yards on seven carries and a 5-yard completion, and D. Harrison with the game's only listed reception, for 5 yards.
North Farmington's roster features quarterback Stone Trevino, a junior listed at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds. Running back Logan Murphy and receiver Jamir Rentie give the Raiders playmakers on both sides of the ball. Senior lineman Gabriel Jankowski, who has committed to Wayne State, anchors the line at 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds.
The 58-point margin was the largest of the season for North Farmington, based on the two confirmed scores available. Against Lakeland, the Raiders won by 28. Against Walled Lake Central, they more than doubled that gap.
Week 5: Raiders face ninth-ranked South Lyon
North Farmington now turns to a non-league matchup against South Lyon, which also enters at 3-1. The Lions are ranked ninth in Michigan and are coming off a 49-18 win over eighth-ranked Milford on the same Friday night as the Raiders' rout.
South Lyon quarterback Carter McGlinch told the Oakland Press after the Lions' win over Milford Friday night, "Now, hopefully (we beat) North Farmington next week. Let's do it."
The matchup pits two teams that have scored at will through the first four weeks. South Lyon has won three straight since its only loss, and North Farmington has scored at least 54 points in each of its last two games.
The Raiders and Lions are scheduled to meet at South Lyon High School, 1000 N. Lafayette St. in South Lyon. The varsity kickoff date and time had not been confirmed as of Sunday, Sept. 20.
