North Farmington's boys soccer team won for the first time in 2026, beating Grosse Pointe South 3-2 on the road Saturday, Aug. 29, according to MaxPreps.

The non-conference victory snapped an 0-4 start that had the Raiders searching for answers. Through those first four games, North Farmington had scored just two goals while allowing 24. The losses included shutouts against Groves and South Lyon plus two 6-1 defeats to Walled Lake Northern.

Three goals in Grosse Pointe were more than the Raiders had managed in their first four games combined. The win moved North Farmington to 1-4 overall with five goals scored and 26 allowed through five contests.

The turnaround was sharpest on offense. North Farmington had been shut out twice and held to a single goal in each of its other two losses before putting three past Grosse Pointe South's back line. The Raiders also tightened up defensively, conceding two goals after giving up an average of six per game over their first four outings.

North Farmington competes in the Lakes Valley Conference, where the schedule will intensify as September progresses. The non-conference slate has given the Raiders a chance to find their footing before league play ramps up.

The Raiders return home to host South Lyon East on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in another non-conference matchup at their Farmington Hills campus on West 13 Mile Road.
