North Farmington senior quarterback Elijah Cobb has landed on two statewide statistical leaderboards at once, ranking 24th in passing yards and 25th in rushing yards heading into Week 6.

The MaxPreps Week 6 primer, published Tuesday, Sept. 29 by Eric Frantz, lists Cobb with 802 passing yards and 491 rushing yards through five games. That puts 1,293 total yards on his stat line, all while the No. 18-wearing Raiders signal-caller has North Farmington sitting at 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the Lakes Valley Conference.

The numbers grew in a hurry during Week 5, when Cobb accounted for two passing touchdowns and three rushing scores in North Farmington's 44-38 overtime win over South Lyon on Friday, Sept. 25.

As we reported Sept. 28, the overtime comeback handed South Lyon its first LVC loss and left the Lions at 3-2 overall. Four teams are now tied for second place at 3-1 in the conference, according to the Oakland Press.

Cobb's dual-leaderboard presence is rare territory for a Farmington Hills quarterback. Among the 25 players on the MaxPreps passing chart, the leader, Grosse Ile junior Brady Cannatella, tops the list at 1,359 yards. On the rushing side, Jonesville senior John Milks leads with 968 yards. Cobb is the only quarterback to appear on both lists through five weeks.

The Raiders travel to Milford on Friday, Oct. 2, carrying a two-game winning streak and 1,293 combined yards from their senior quarterback into the second half of the LVC schedule.
